The Chamber of International Lawyers, or International Chamber, is a non-profit association of lawyers whose work is mainly in the field of international law in its various forms. Established in 2021, the Chamber aims to develop relations between members, to enhance their professionalism and to represent their needs. In this representative role, the Chamber aspires to actively participate in the public debate on issues of interest to its members and to act as a think tank on issues of reform aimed at modernising the country.
Barristers and trainee barristers registered with any bar association in Italy and university lecturers in law provided they are registered with any bar association in Italy are entitled to be admitted to the International Chamber as associates.
The Chamber wants to contribute to the debate on justice and professional issues by representing the point of view of international lawyers. In particular, it intends to make proposals on the introduction in Italy of specialised courts and special rules for disputes with international elements.
The Chamber aims to create opportunities for lawyers who predominantly deal with internationalist legal subjects, such as private international law and public international law, European Union law, arbitration law, and immigration law, to exchange views.
The Chamber promotes scientific and cultural initiatives. It undertakes, in particular, to promote the specificity of the professional figure of the international lawyer by organising training courses consistent with the provisions in force in the Italian legal system on forensic specialisation.
